Do you ship anywhere in Australia?
Yes. We can ship kits to children anywhere in Australia. Return postage is included in the price, so there are no extra mailing costs for families
Do you offer returns/refunds?
You can cancel with a refund any time before a kit is dispatched. If a child’s clinical needs change, we’ll work with the referrer to adjust the plan.
Is Healiox an Australian company?
Yes. Healiox is run by an Australian team of doctors, technology and device experts. Staff are Australia-based and we comply with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What if a parent has difficulty administering the test at home?
We provide tailored video instructions and phone support to help families complete the study successfully, aiming for a high rate of adequate recordings.
Is there a Medicare rebate available?
No, not at present for home sleep screening tests (e.g. V1,V2). However, as of October 2025, a new rebate has been announced for home diagnostic sleep tests (e.g. V3). We will update referrers once these changes come into effect.
Is my child’s data private?
Yes. Data are stored securely, only accessible to authorised team members, and results are sent directly to the referring clinic.
Are your Kits and the contained devices Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Approved?
Yes. Our devices are all individually registered with the TGA, and our kits are also registered, and approved for their indicated use with the TGA.
Service FAQs
What are typical turnaround times?
Turnaround is usually 7–10 days for V1 (Oximetry) and V2 (Comprehensive screening), and 7–14 days for V3 (Level-2 diagnostic) from kit dispatch/return to reported results.
Which signals are recorded in the Level-2 diagnostic kit (V3)?
V3 records oximetry, heart rate, airflow, RIP effort, snore, body position, ECG and bruxism, with EEG used in the V3 workflow to enable diagnostic reporting by a sleep physician.
Are your devices approved for use in Australia?
Yes. Healiox uses devices that are approved for use in Australia, supported by published research evidence, and paired with specialist interpretation.
Who reports the studies?
- V1/V2: Oximetry is reported by a paediatric sleep/respiratory physician.
- V2/V3: The mouth/tonsil/oral video is reviewed by an ENT surgeon (withholding specialty-specific video reporting when appropriate to avoid duplication).
- V3: The full level-2 sleep study is sleep scientist and sleep physician-reported with diagnostic metrics and management guidance.
Do families get a telehealth consult?
Yes. V2 and V3 include a telehealth consultation to discuss results and next steps with an ENT surgeon or paediatric sleep physician.
How much do the kits cost?
Indicative out of pocket fees (including return postage and specialist reporting): V1 $330, V2 $440, V3 $550. Clinics may set local billing processes; confirm at referral. Prices may change without notice. The post kit Telehealth consultation with the Healiox specialist will be bulk billed. The Private insurance extras may also provide additional co for V3 kits – check with your insurer.
What if my child needs a local face to face ENT surgeon review for surgery ?
We are continuing to build a national network of trusted preferred ENT partners who will offer a review (telehealth or face to face) within 2 weeks of receipt of our Healiox® referral, and will offer expedited local surgical care where appropriate. Check our preferred partners section for details.
What if my child needs a local face to face Dental review for treatment ?
We are continuing to build a national network of trusted preferred Dental partners who will offer a review (telehealth or face to face) within 2 weeks of receipt of our Healiox® referral, and will offer expedited local dental care where appropriate.
Can Healiox® prescribe medicines for my child?
Yes. Where the Healiox clinician feels there is an appropriate medication for your child, such as nasal steroid spray, they can provide you with an e-script so that you can start medical treatment immediately.
